The API endpoint /api/v1/guest/customers – which is used to export students from PushCoin by an authorized school administrator – will no longer return image_url data. A concern was raised that if the exported file somehow made its way into the wrong hands, student pictures could be downloaded in bulk.
We consider all input from schools and treat data security and student privacy with the highest priority. To ensure this concern is addressed, the image URL attribute will no longer be returned starting September 18th.
There is currently one known use-case for the image_url attribute – printing of student mealcards. PushCoin will ensure that the mealcard generation will continue to work after this change goes live.
