To generate mealcards, or student ID cards, head over to Cafeteria > Mealcards. Next, click on the New job button in the top-right corner.
On the Mealcard job page, begin by providing a Job name – it will help you later identify this batch of mealcards among many. For example, if you need to generate mealcards for each of your schools separately, a job name could start with the name of the school. At this point you can also change the format of the mealcards if the default of Avery 8870 does not work for you. Finally, click the Save button.
Once your mealcard job is saved you will see an area where you can drag-and-drop a students file in Excel or CSV format. The students file can include these columns, in any order:
- student_id
- first_name
- last_name
- middle_name
- title
- homeroom
If you exported students from PushCoin, via Users > Export, the saved file already has the right columns for the mealcard generator.
The order of generated mealcards will match the order of rows in the uploaded CSV/Excel file. If you require a custom order such as by homeroom, last-name and first-name then sort the rows in Excel prior to dropping the file on the Mealcard job page.
Once your CSV/Excel file is sorted and saved locally on your PC, drop the file onto the dropzone area of the Mealcard job page. Shortly after the upload finishes, you will see a sample of rows from your file. It’s good to spot check if all the columns you care for are there.
If everything looks good, click the Submit job button. Depending on the number of rows in the uploaded file, it may take between one to five minutes for the system to generate the PDF file and make it available to you for download.
You don’t have to wait for the job to finish. You can – for example – proceed to submit another mealcard job with a different batch of students. There is no limit on how many jobs you can queue up. You will be notified via email when mealcard files are ready for download.
